ImageNebraska running back Marlon Lucky was unstoppable on the ground today vs. the Nevada Wolfpack. With 4:16 left in the 1st quarter, Nebraska QB, Sam Keller capped a 12 play, 94-yard drive with a 16-yard TD pass to Lucky.

Nevada QB, Nick Graziano couldn’t do much to hold off the Cornhusker defense, as he was pressured throughout the entire contest. Nevada scored its first points in the 2nd quarter, with a 36 yard field goal, making the score 7-3.

Later on in the 2nd quarter, Nevada DB, Jonathan Amaya, hauled in a tipped pass, and returned it 80 yards for a TD, giving the Wolfpack a 10-7 lead. From that point, it was all downhill.

On the following kickoff, Nebraska CB, Courtney Grixby returned the ball 43 yards to the Wolfpack 40 yard line. The Cornhuskers would never look back. Lucky would score his second TD of the day, on a 1-yard run, to give the Cornhuskers a 14-10 lead, with 6:40 remaining in the 2nd quarter.

Nebraska called 14 consecutive running plays following the Nevada interception. Freshman RB, Quentin Castille, also proved to be a presence in the ground game, as he scored Nebraska’s third TD of the day, giving the Cornhuskers a 21-10 halftime lead.

In the second half, the Cornhuskers continued to dominate on the ground. After having a 65-yard run negated by a questionable holding penalty, Lucky scored his 3rd TD from 17 yards out, with 11:30 remaining in the 3rd quarter, pushing the lead to 28-10.

Nevada had no answer for Lucky, who would score his fourth TD of the day, on a 3-yard run with 8:59 remaining in the third quarter.

Lucky and Castille ran behind a powerful Nebraska offensive line, gaining 311 yards on the ground combined. Lucky finished the game with 233 yards on 30 carries. Castille chipped in with 78 yards on 18 carries for two TD’s.

Keller finished the game 14 of 25 for 193 yards and 1 TD.
