Round 1

Image 1. ST. LOUIS RAMS
select- Ndamkong Suh-DT-Nebraska- With glaring holes everywhere the Rams should trade out of this pick. Should they stay in this spot, expect them to take Suh.

Image 2. DETROIT LIONS
select- Gerald McCoy-DT-Oklahoma- The Lions find themselves in an unfamiliar situation. They’re able to take the best player on the board since the put a face on the franchise one year earlier.

Image 3. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS select- Eric Berry-S-Tennessee- When Coach Morris took over the defense with six games to go, the Bucs went from a joke to a team that you had to take seriously. One position was still unbelievably bad and Berry should fix it.

Image 4. WASHINGTON REDSKINS select- Russell Okung-OT-Oklahoma State- Jason Campbell was terrible last year…a phrase uttered by many. He was the 15th rated passer in the league with virtually no run game or protection. Let’s take care of that before we start from scratch.

Image 5. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS select- Derrick Morgan-DE/OLB-Georgia Tech- The Chiefs might take the best player on the board (CJ Spiller) but I believe that they’ll nab an edge pass rusher. I previously had Kindle here but Morgan is too good of an athlete to slip.

Image 6. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS select- CJ Spiller-RB-Clemson- This guy is flying up the board because of his ability to change a game in multiple phases. The Seahawks are in desperate need of a game breaker.

Image 7. CLEVELAND BROWNS select- Joe Haden-CB-Florida- Holmgren saw the same highlight tapes that we did and noticed that Eric Wright needs a partner in crime. They couldn’t cover or tackle in the secondary, Haden can do both.

Image 8. OAKLAND RAIDERS select- Carlos Dunlap-DE-Florida- The guy is 290lbs. and runs a 4.68 in the 40…this is my stone cold lock of the century, of da week!

Image 9. BUFFALO BILLS select- Sam Bradford-QB-Oklahoma- Trent Edwards’ days are numbered, and Bills fans still have images of Jim Kelly floating around in their heads. Even though I attribute a lot of the problems to scheme and the second worst protection in the league (Green Bay), I see them taking Bradford.

Image 10. DENVER BRONCOS(via Chicago) select- Dez Bryant-WR-Oklahoma State- Things are starting to look more doubtful for the return of Brandon Marshall to this team. They need a suitable replacement and Bryant has the tools to be successful.

Image 11. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS select- Jason Pierre-Paul-DE-USF- I still expect the Jags to trade down and select Tebow, but if they don’t then they have to take a player with 11th pick value. They were one of the league’s worst teams for sack production.

Image 12. MIAMI DOLPHINS select- Rolando McClain-ILB-Alabama- The absence of Bryant combined with the presence of McClain will make this a fairly easy decision for Parcells.

Image 13. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS
select- Anthony Davis-OT-Rutgers- Improved play by Alex Smith coupled with a few protection issues will steer the 49ers towards an OT.

Image 14. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS(via Denver) select- Bryan Bulaga-OT-Iowa- The retirement of Walter Jones, as well as the selection of Davis, will prompt them to take Bulaga with this pick.

Image 15. NEW YORK GIANTS select- Sergio Kindle-OLB/DE-Texas- Jerry Reese needs versatility in the defensive front seven. Kindle can play outside backer or put his hand on the ground as a rush end.

Image 16. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS(via Carolina) select- Taylor Mays-S-USC- Singletary has to take a defensive player in the 1st round since they have two picks. With Haden off the board they’ll choose either Mays or Thomas to bolster their secondary.

Image 17. TENNESSEE TITANS select- Corey Wooten-DE-Northwestern- The Titans had one of the most anemic pass rushes in the league. They’ll be inspired to take a DE with this pick due to the number of players at this position flying off the board.

Image 18. PITTSBURGH STEELERS
select- Mike Iupati-OG-Idaho- Okay, the Steelers need help at CB because Taylor is overrated and Gay is terrible. They can address this later because of depth at the position. Let’s give Rothelisberger some interior help with a cant miss OG..

Image 19. ATLANTA FALCONS select- Golden Tate-WR-Notre Dame- The Falcons need help on defense but they’ll address that later. Roddy White is a top 10 caliber WR and Douglass was a solid player in ’08; outside of those two the receiving core is plain awful.

Image 20. HOUSTON TEXANS
select- Jonathan Dwyer-RB-Georgia Tech- The Texans might take S Earl Thomas but I have a feeling that they’ll take care of the offenses biggest problem…the running game. Slaton plays like Reggie Bush, so the Texans need an every down back.

Image 21. CINCINNATI BENGALS select- Jermaine Gresham-TE-Oklahoma- Gresham is still one of the 10 most talented guys in this draft and Cincinnati needs to pick him to make Carson Palmer’s life easier.

Image 22. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS select- Jared Odrick-DE/DT-Penn State- The Pats need rush backers and receivers but the guys they wanted for this pick are already gone. Contract issues coupled with the trade of Seymour will inspire them to take a versatile D-lineman.

Image 23. GREEN BAY PACKERS select- Bruce Campbell-OT-Maryland- The Packers struggled adjusting to the 3-4 and their secondary is overrated. Depth in this draft at CB and S, along with Rodgers running for his life on a consistent basis, should inspire them to draft an OT.

Image 24. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
select- Brandon Spikes-ILB-Florida-McNabb finally has help at WR and a power back can be picked up in the mid rounds. The Eagles defense was a letdown for the first time in a while. With the top MLB off the board they’ll jump all over Spikes.

Image 25. BALTIMORE RAVENS select- Brandon LaFell-WR-LSU- GM Ozzie Newsome loves TE’s and big receivers, especially with the emergence of Flacco. The impending retirement of Mason coupled with a lack of depth at WR will inspire this. Flacco will benefit from Tate’s big play ability.

Image 26. ARIZONA CARDINALS
select- Jimmy Clausen-QB-Notre Dame- Kurt Warner finally called it quits, now the Cards are faced with a problem. Leinart has had multiple chances to prove his worth but he’s just not that good. Take Clausen because he’s a great value at this pick.

Image 27. DALLAS COWBOYS select- Earl Thomas-S-Texas- The pass rush for the Cowboys made their safeties look better than they’re talent would suggest. They could go CB with this pick but you can’t pass up Thomas at this pick.

Image 28. SAN DIEGO CHARGERS select- Jahvid Best-RB-California- Things have changed for the Chargers since Tomlinson voiced his opinion about his role with the team, which effectively tenured his resignation from the organization. Enter a versatile back from upstate Cali.

Image 29. NEW YORK JETS select- Damian Williams-WR-USC- The Jets were almost as lucky in the draft as they were at the end of the ’09 season. Earl Thomas nearly fell right into their laps. Instead they’ll get a gritty WR who can actually catch, unlike Droplon Edwards.

Image 30. MINNESOTA VIKINGS select- Patrick Robinson-CB-Florida State- In earlier mock drafts I had them taking a DT, but they need a massive amount improvement in their secondary.

Image 31. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS select- Ricky Sapp-OLB-Clemson- The Saints have made huge strides on the defensive side of the ball. They’re still a little thin at most positions on that side. Though a DT would help, an athletic OLB is of greater need.

Image 32. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS select- Dan Williams-DT-Tennessee- The Colts defense was amazing this year considering all of the injuries. They still need help in the secondary because of possible career ending issues but DT is the biggest concern.
