ImageThe Oklahoma Sooners and red-shirt freshman QB Sam Bradford, made a statement today vs. the Miami Hurricanes.  Bradford passed for 205 yards on 18 of 25 pass attempts.  He finished the game with 5 TD passes.

After steamrolling North Texas 79-10, many looked to see how the Sooners would perform against the much more talented Miami Hurricanes. When the clock struck zero today, the scoreboard read, “Oklahoma 51, Miami 13.” The Sooners are for real.

Early in the game, Bradford hooked up with WR Malcolm Kelly for two TD’s in the first quarter (23 and 24-yards). Kelly finished the game with 3 TD grabs. After two games, Kelly has 5 TD receptions.

Against North Texas, Bradford was 21 of 23 passing, for 363 yards and 3 TD’s.  With eight quarters of college football under his belt, Bradford has already thrown for 568 yards and 8 TD’s.  He still has yet to throw an interception.

Bradford isn’t Oklahoma's only freshman standout.  RB DeMarco Murray opened a lot of eyes last week, as he rushed for 5 TD’s vs. North Texas.

Murray led the Sooners with 64 yards rushing, as the Sooner backfield (four different backs carried the ball today) combined for 165 rushing yards. Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops was less inclined to pound the run against the Hurricanes, as Bradford was throwing dart-like, pin point passes, finding his open receivers with relative ease.

Offering a glimpse of the future, with 11:52 remaining in the 4th quarter, Murray picked up the Miami blitz, allowing Bradford enough time to stand and fire a 30-yard strike, Bradford's 3rd touchdown to Kelly,

After today’s performance, many will argue that the BCS title is on its way back to Oklahoma.
