Quinn Arrives

After opening the season with a phenomenal first outing, Brady Quinn has the fans in Cleveland in an uproar.

The Browns did not get much from starter Derek Anderson, who was hit and fumbled on the Browns opening drive. The Cleveland offense struggled throughout, as the first and second string offensives failed to reach the endzone. Image

With 9:20 remaining in the 4th quarter, the Browns Stadium was recharged. Fans in Cleveland had been waiting to see the former Notre Dame star in live action since draft day. After entering to a screaming 4th quarter crowd, Quinn went 13-20, for 155 yards and 2 TDs.

Though Quinn threw lots of short passes, he moved the offense efficiently, and showed good poise in the pocket. With 6:46 left in the 4th quarter Quinn completed his first NFL TD to WR Efrem Hill (4 yards). Quinn would later complete a six-yard TD to RB Jerome Harrison, for his 2nd TD of the day, capping a 92 yard drive.

The Lions pulled out the victory, to move their pre-season record to a perfect 2-0, but with more performances, like the one against Detroit, Cleveland coach Romeo Crennel will have an interesting decision to make by the regular season opener.

Notes: Rookie WR Calvin Johnson finished the game without a reception.
